Nsave, a UK-founded offshore banking platform, has launched financial services for Syrians, offering inbound transfers and international accounts for residents inside Syria. The company provides access to stable foreign currency accounts in USD, EUR and GBP, alongside international cards, global transfers and savings products. Founded by CEO Amer Baroudi, a Syrian who experienced being unbanked despite studying at Oxford, nsave aims to serve people from distressed economies excluded by legacy banks' blanket compliance frameworks. The platform uses technology to assess individual risk rather than writing off entire populations based on nationality. The Syria corridor operates with enhanced onboarding, sanctions screening and AML monitoring, structured separately from partner institutions to ensure compliance whilst serving a market historically shut out from financial services. Nsave raised $18 million in January 2025.
